Snow Shoe Hike and Rail Adventure

This trip combines a train ride aboard the Historic White Pass & Yukon Route Railway with a wilderness trek in the stunning alpine zone of the upper reaches of the Tormented Valley. The first leg of your adventure is aboard "The Scenic Railway of the World" for approximately a 1hr and 10 min ride up and over the White Pass Summit. After arriving at the trailhead and gearing up, you are on your way over the snow covered, glacially carved landscape. On your way, your professional, experienced guide will share with you the unique natural history, geography, geology and delve into the snow science of the area. Enjoy wide open views of snow capped mountains, frozen lakes and the rugged terrain the stampeders endured over 100 years ago. When returning to the trailhead enjoy Packer Expeditions traditional cooler of "Backcountry Delights", complete with a cold brew. Get back on the train to Fraser British Columbia where you meet your motor coach for your ride down the Klondike Highway back to Skagway. Your hiking guides will be with you the entire trip to share Gold rush History and to answer any other questions you may have. Note: Participants must be at least 9 years of age and in good physical condition.
